Before purchasing a house:
- Check in with your County Assessor.
- Ask about the current taxes and what exemptions are currently on the property
- Ask for an estimate of taxes based on a possible selling price
- Ask what exemption you may be eligible for
- Ask for a property record card. This will show you what is on the tax roll.
- Check the history of the house, was it recently rehabbed.
